Finding the executable file (EXE) of your PC game

This article explains how to locate the installation folder and the executable file (.exe) of your game depending on the platform you are using.

Steam


Simple method via Steam:
Open Steam
Go to your Library
Right-click on the game
Click on Properties
Go to Installed Files / Local Files
Click Browse

The game folder will open directly.

Default Steam path:
X:\Steam\steamapps\common\GameName

Epic Games Store (EGS)

Method via the launcher:
Open the Epic Games Launcher
Go to your Library
Click the three dots (…) under the game
Select Manage
Click Open Install Location

The folder containing the .exe file will open directly.

Default Epic Games path:
X:\Epic Games\GameName


GOG (GOG Galaxy)

Method via GOG Galaxy:
Open GOG Galaxy
Go to your Library
Select the game
Click Settings
Click Manage Installation
Select Show Folder

The game folder will open directly.

Default GOG path:
X:\GOG Games\GameName

Where is the .exe file located?

Once inside the game folder:

The executable file is usually located in the root folder
It is typically named after the game (e.g. GameName.exe)
In some cases, it may be located in a subfolder such as:
Binaries
Win64
Launcher
